CAHPS Surveys: How Our Medicare Members Rate
Us — and You

The annual Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS®) surveys are being conducted for our Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial members beginning February 2012. CAHPS surveys ask members to rate the care given by their clinicians and the services provided by EmblemHealth. The surveys give us a snapshot of how satisfied our members are with us — and our network providers. The quality of your interactions with our members is reflected in these surveys. You can help us improve member satisfaction by seeing patients within 15 minutes of their appointment time, explaining medical matters in easy-to-understand terms and involving the patient in treatment decisions.

Provider Advisory Webinar
EmblemHealth is offering our Provider Advisory Webinar for office-based practitioners and office managers on Friday, February 10, 2012, from 9 am to 10 am. This Webinar is open to the first 75 office-based practices that register. Additional Provider Advisory Webinars will be scheduled later in the year. Register online before February 2, 2012. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services mandates that all network Medicare practitioners and providers must annually review our Medicare Special Needs Plan (SNP) Training. This PowerPoint presentation gives an overview of the SNP Model of Care and identifies at a high level the SNPs that are available to EmblemHealth members in 2012.

Emblem Behavioral Health Services Program

Our Emblem Behavioral Health Services Program went into effect January 1, 2012. ValueOptions® has begun administering behavioral health services for members in our GHI HMO and HIP plans. Additional information may be found in our Quick Guides for Clinicians and Facilities. more

Select EmblemHealth EPO, InBalance EPO and PPO Plan Options to Be Revised

Beginning in April 2012, EmblemHealth will be revising its product portfolio to include plans with more contemporary designs and cost-sharing arrangements for small groups and sole proprietors; as a result several plans will be replaced over time.

As these new plans take effect, your affected members will be transitioned to a new plan. Please refer to this chart to view the key plan differences and replacement options that will be offered.
