Screening Tool: PHQ-9*
The PHQ-9 (Patient Health Questionnaire-9) is a screening tool for depression.
Scoring:
In addition, "significant" change can be attributed to any interventions that result in a decrease of 5 or more points on the PHQ-9. A member is considered to be in complete "remission" if his/her score falls below 5.
The PHQ-9 is especially sensitive to measuring change over time, and guidelines for intervention have been established based on its scores, as follows:
