Become a GHI Selling Agent
  
  

GHI invites health insurance brokers statewide to apply to become GHI Selling Agents. Successful applicants must meet GHI's licensure requirements and register with one of GHI's network of General Agents. Here is a brief summary of GHI's Broker Licensure Policy:

  • Broker licenses issued under section 2104 of the insurance law are accepted for appointment.
  • Agent licenses issued under section 2103(a) of the insurance law that stipulate Accident & Health accreditation are accepted for appointment.
  • Agent licenses issued under section 2103(b) of the insurance law that do not stipulate Accident & Health accreditation are not accepted for appointment.
  • Agent licenses under section 2103(b) of the insurance law are Property & Casualty licenses, and consequently are not accepted for appointment.

When applying to become a GHI Selling Agent, please submit the following documentation:

  • A copy of your current New York State Insurance Department Accident and Health Agent license or Broker's license. If applying as a corporation, include both parts of the corporate license.
  • A GHI Selling Agent Appointment Application form, completed on both sides.
  • Two completed and signed copies of the Selling Agent Agreement contract. A fully executed copy will be returned to you.

GHI will be able to begin paying commissions upon receipt and approval of the above documentation. Future commission payment will be mailed on or about the 15th of the month and will be based on the premium received for the prior month.
