MTA-New York City Transit
During our three decades of service to MTA-New York City Transit, members have come to recognize the outstanding advantages we offer. For several years in a row, more than 60 percent of members have chosen the GHI Program, and the majority of those members who have switched plans have decided to join GHI.
Members have direct access to care at nearly 88,000 provider locations, including individual practitioners and facilities. Before joining the network, providers must pass a rigorous screening process that helps ensure the highest quality care.
Unlike the vast majority of health plans, the GHI Program makes every network provider - including all specialists - directly available to members. With GHI, you and your family are able to schedule appointments with the providers you choose in the privacy and convenience of their offices. To simplify matters further, there are rarely any claim forms to complete for covered in-network services.
GHI has negotiated with all network providers to abide by a pre-established fee schedule for in-network covered services. That's why you pay nothing out-of-pocket, except for a modest co-pay. Plus, you can opt for out-of-network services and still be eligible for some benefits.
With a tradition of facilitating access to quality health care for New Yorkers and their dependents, GHI continues to implement plan innovations and services that meet the evolving needs of today's families.
The coverage benefits under the GHI Program, which are summarized on the next page, are available even when you're away from home. Complete hospital benefits apply in virtually any acute care facility in the U.S. What's more, there are participating GHI providers outside the tri-state area, including Florida, Arizona and California.
