Gestational Diabetes
What Are the Symptoms?
Women with gestational diabetes usually have no symptoms. Most cases of gestational diabetes are diagnosed through blood tests as part of routine screening during pregnancy. Very rarely, specifically if the diabetes is out of control, you may notice:
- Increased thirst
- Greatly increased appetite
- Increased urination
- You have concerns that your medical history or your family's medical history may put you at higher risk for gestational diabetes.
- You are putting on too much weight.
- You are abnormally thirsty or hungry.
- You need to urinate more frequently.
