Trichomoniasis
The Basics | Symptoms | Detection & Treatment
What Are the Symptoms?
If you're a man, you'll probably have no symptoms, or you may experience some discomfort when urinating.
If you're a woman, you may have no symptoms at all, or you may experience:
- A greenish yellow, frothy vaginal discharge with a pronounced odor.
- Vaginal itching or irritation.
- Painful intercourse.
- Discomfort during urination.
- In rare cases, pain in the lower abdomen.
- Vaginal bleeding.
Call Your Doctor If:
You experience any of the symptoms listed above. Trichomoniasis is contagious and can lead to complications. Women shouldn't assume that the problem is simple inflammation of the vagina.
